LUTTO NEL MONDO DELLA PALLAVOLO
Venerdì 16 settembre 2005, all’incirca alle ore 7, il centrale della Lube Macerata, Golas, è venuto a mancare in seguito ad un incidente automobilistico avvenuto all’altezza di Klagenfurt, in Austria. Nell’incidente è rimasta ferita la moglie, che al momento dell’impatto si trovava al volante dell’autoveicolo.
Si resta sempre un pò attoniti quando una vita, per di più così giovane, viene a mancare. Le parole in questi casi non sembrano mai quelle adatte, i sentimenti, le emozioni, gli stati d’animo di ognuno di noi sono diversi ma allo stesso tempo comuni.
Vi riporto l’articolo apparso su un giornale tedesco, sul sito della nazionale polacco e quanto scritto sul sito della Lube da una ragazza. Riporterò con un copia-incolla anche vari post, quelli più significativi a mio avviso.

Der bei Griffen verunfallte Pole spielte bei italienischem Topverein Lube Banca. Der Mann verstarb noch an der Unfallstelle.
Ein polnischer Spitzen-Volleyballer ist am Freitag in Kärnten bei einem Verkehrsunfall getötet worden. Es handelt sich um den 24-jährigen Arkadiusz Golas. Der Zwei-Meter-Mann spielte zuletzt als Mittelblocker beim italienischen Spitzenklub Lube Banca Macerata, der im Jahr 2002 die Volleyball-Champions-League gewonnen hatte.
Gegen Lärmschutzwand. Golas hatte sich mit seiner Lebensgefährtin im Auto befunden, als die Frau bei Griffen im Bezirk Völkermarkt aus unbekannter Ursache gegen eine Lärmschutzwand geprallt war. Der Sportler erlitt dabei tödliche Kopfverletzungen, seine Freundin liegt schwer verletzt im Spital. Sie kann sich auf Grund einer Gehirnerschütterung nicht an den Unfallhergang erinnern. Die Leiche des Sportlers war im Wrack eingeklemmt und musste von der Feuerwehr herausgeschnitten werden.
Olympionike. Golas hatte im vergangenen Jahr mit der polnischen Nationalmannschaft am olympischen Volleyball-Turnier teilgenommen. Seine Mannschaft erreichte das Viertelfinale und belegte schließlich gemeinsam mit Griechenland, Serbien-Montenegro und Argentinien den fünften Endrang. Auch bei der Europameisterschaft im September dieses Jahres in Rom spielte Golas in der polnischen Mannschaft, die den Einzug ins Halbfinale knapp verpasste.”

Ponad 70-krotny reprezentant Polski w piłce siatkowej (brązowy medalista MŚ kadetów 1999, członek drużyny, która wywalczyła 4. miejsce w Lidze Światowej 2005 i 5. miejsce w ME 2005); olimpijczyk z Aten 2004 (5. miejsce). Wychowanek MKS MOS Wola Warszawa, następnie zawodnik AZS Częstochowa (3 razy wicemistrzostwo Polski) i Edilbasso & Partners Padwa. Ostatnio podpisał kontrakt z kolejnym czołowym klubem włoskiej Serie A - Lube Banca Macerata. Środkowy bloku młodej generacji, na którym kadra biało-czerwonych miała się opierać przez długie lata… Niespełna dwa miesiące temu Arek się ożenił. Koledzy z reprezentacji zrobili mu niespodziankę, informując o ślubie publiczność w czasie fety w hali w Rzeszowie tuż po zakwalifikowaniu się do MŚ 2006. Utworzyli szpaler, przez który defilował, a cztery tysiące fanów zgotowało mu indywidualną owację na stojąco. W związku ze śmiercią Arkadiusza Gołasia, Polski Związek Piłki Siatkowej zwraca się z prośbą do wszystkich organizatorów imprez siatkarskich, jakie odbywają się obecnie w naszym kraju, o uczczenie minutą ciszy Jego pamięci. Wszyscy ludzie ze środowiska siatkarskiego w Polsce są wstrząśnięci. Wszyscy, którzy znali Arka, podkreślają, że był to przesympatyczny, grzeczny, inteligentny chłopak, o ogromnych możliwościach sportowych. Prawdziwy “siatkarz XXI wieku”…Pełniący obowiązki ministra sportu Jerzy Ciszewski złożył kondolencje na ręce prezesa PZPS, Mirosława Przedpełskiego. Selekcjoner reprezentacji Polski, Raul Lozano, odwołał planowany na piątek po południu wylot na urlop do swojego kraju. Argentyńczyk chce zostać w Polsce na pogrzeb jednego ze swoich ulubionych zawodników, z którym wiązał wielkie nadzieje.”
Paula “He was going in a car from Poland to Italy - Macerata, his new club. He left at night from thuersday on friday. He just got a brand new car from saloon - Toyota Avent combi, so supposly everything was ok with the car… tgether with him was his wife Agnieszka.. they got married on 21st of July 2005… originaly they supposed to get married few days earlier on 16th of July… but because of WL they pospone it..:( bad luck…
somewhere in Austria at 7 a.m. on friday they had a car accident.. Agnieszka was driving at that time, they say that Arek was sleeping on a passanger sit.. everything shows that Agnieszka had fallen asleep too, because there were no signs of brakes on a street, so she had to go straight with all the speed into the sound-proof wall on a autostrada.. Arek died instantly, se got to hospital without to many injuries, nothing serious at least… she is already out of hospital.. she says she doesnot remember the accident..Arek played with number “16″ on his t-shirt, he SUPPOSED TO GET MARRIDE on 16th, and he died on 16th… we think it was his destiny, it had to happen this way, acciedents like this are very rare, it was just a “second of a second” of deconcentration and as result we have bigger tradegy then we - polish fans, Arek’s family and friends, can handle…. its an absolute disaster for all of us and it will be very difficult for all of us to agree with that and forget…we will never forget Arek… R.I.P. Fabio “Sono passati più di dieci anni e mi ricordo bene un pomeriggio nel quale, accendendo il televideo, seppi che uno dei più grandi schiacciatori di quel periodo, il russo Kuznetsov, che giocava a Ferrara, nostra diretta avversaria per la promozione in A1 era morto in un incidente stradale. Restai senza parole. Ora è successo di nuovo……e stavolta ci tocca ancora più da vicino. Non vedevo l’ora di incontrarlo…….dovevo chiedergli come diavolo avrei potuto chiamarlo durante le partite visto che Arkadiusz mi sembrava proprio improponibile. Ora lo so, è facile: l’avrei chiamato Arek, come i suoi amici polacchi, oppure Arki, come quelli che l’hanno conosciuto a Padova………non sarebbe stato un problema……….ma purtroppo non ce ne sarà bisogno!Ciao Arki, eri già uno dei nostri!! ”

Your fan Arek “Today in Częstochowa’s Cathedral there was a mass for Arek Gołaś soul (…)Besides the closest family and friends there were few thousands of fans, exactly as at the matches of his former club of Częstochowa few years ago (…)The mass was celebrated by 15 priests under comend of bishop Jan Wątroba… In the name of the city of Częstochowa - president of the city said last good-bye to Arek and in the name of Polish Volleyball Association - vicepresident and former president of Częstochowa club Andrzej Gołaszewski (…)The coffin with Arek’s body was carried out from the church by his friends from national team and the Częstochowa club, the flag was carried by Edward Skorek (coach of AZS Częstochowa) and Stanisław Gościniak (head coach of Polish National Team at Olympic Games in Athen), both are Golden Medalist of Olympic Games and World Champions…When the coffin was placed in caravan fans were screaming “Arek, Gołaś… Arek”… exactly like during the matches… Many of them were dressed in “national and club fan’s outfits” (…)…They said the last good bye to Arek by clapping strongly for him this last time when the caravan was leaving the Cathedral…The funeral will be hold in family city of Arek - Ostrołęka, on thursday, at 2 p.m.R.I.P. żegnaj Arku… [*]…”
